Wolf and Cub at The Tivoli

I went to one of Brisbane’s most influential live music venues, The Zoo, to check out the phenomenal Wolf and Cub. They’re not a band that’s everyone’s cup of tea, but over time, I’ve slowly been getting into their stuff.

Supporting Wolf and Cub were The Scare, a loud, dissonant in your face band from Sydney.

Opening the night was Brissy locals The Cairos.

The Scare are from Brisbane, they just don’t like to admit it… They did a good job of burning their bridges at a show at The Zoo a few years back, just before they moved to the UK, by telling the crowd that we were all a bunch of sad losers for living in Brisbane (something along those lines from memory…).

My roll of film from the night was pretty terrible. I blame drunkeness and blindness (having taken my right contact lens out at lunchtime as it was giving me trouble). The drunkeness meant I forgot and spent about 5 minutes trying to work out why my camera wasn’t focussing…

wowsers, i didn’t know that stuff about the history of the scare… interesting stuff to say about people from your own city.. i figured the lead singer was a bit unhinged anyway so perhaps it was that side of his personality coming out..

bummer to hear about the shots not working! i’ve done shit like that before, except, i don’t wear contact lenses! :)
