My real name is Lakshal, but everyone calls me Lucky. Laksh- is a very common prefix in Sri Lankan and Indian names, it just seems that everyone who has that prefix in their name gets called Lucky. I have a close family friend called Lakshan, and him and I used to argue about who the "real" Lucky was!

I’m not particularly lucky in real life, I haven’t really won anything serious. The only things I ever seem to win are skill based (eg. trivia nights) so I don’t know if that can be considered lucky. But then again, I’m fortunate enough to be born into a life of non-poverty, unlike around 1 billion people around the world who live in less than $2 per day. So putting things into perspective, I’m pretty lucky to be where I am, and so are all of you!

PS. I think this photo sucks, but I’d done too much of it to stop and do another one. I promise next week will be so much better! I’m cranky because the last few weeks have been so good and this one is so lame. :(
