I’m not normally a photographer of nature (mostly because I’m pretty half assed at it) but sometimes the opportunity strikes to get something really cool. Wollongong has been getting pounded with quite heavy electrical storms in the last few months but I don’t live in a very good place to be able to take advantage of it. This was an occasion where I actually did have my camera, the tripod in the boot and was in a place where I could have a good vantage point! This shot was taken at Woonona beach, about 5 minutes after a huge downpour struck. I was just on my way home and couldn’t resist.

That is indeed a large ship in the middle there, in fact, in between me looking through my shots, a big bolt hit the ship (or must have hit directly behind it). It would have been some pretty scary times for the fellas on there, but I’m sure they’ve probably been through it before.
Awesome, I’ll have to send this one to my dad :)
You take some amazing photographs.
wow that is an amazing picture.. keep up the good work

Great image. Living just back from the beach at Woonona, that storm was a real window rattler. It even condemned our modem/computer to the garbage heap. keep up the pics.
